Like a good novel, my paintings should be read at a variety of levels. At one level my paintings will be seen as startlingly high definition, realistic portraitures of the landscape. But there is much more beyond that. I like to feel that my work is good painterly modern landscape art following all the canons of the craft with the main elements being light and space. Of course the crux of my work is the emotional link between the artist and the viewer: if the viewer feels what I felt when I painted the piece then I consider that I’ve pulled it off.
